~ Thursday Holy Hour ~
Eucharistic Exposition & Benediction
7:15 - 8:15 p.m.
“Adoration means entering the depths of our hearts in communion with the Lord, who makes himself bodily present in the Eucharist. In the monstrance, he always entrusts himself to us and asks us to be united with his Presence, with his risen body.”
-Pope Benedict XVI
On Thursday evenings, along with the Sacrament of Reconciliation, we keep a Eucharistic Holy Hour in the Church. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament begins at 7:30 p.m. In the presence of the Lord in the Sacrament, we hear Scripture and offer prayer, followed by a reflection given on the Scripture readings. All of this takes us to about 8:00 p.m., after which there is a period of silent prayer until Benediction. The service normally concludes about 8:25 p.m.
