Our Respect Life ministry is dedicated to defending the dignity of human life from conception until natural death. Members are committed to prayer and public action, and seek to build a culture of life through education and civic action. The ministry supports local crisis pregnancy centers through fundraisers and donations of items needed for pregnant women. Our ministry typically gathers every 4th Monday in the Parish Commons.
October 23: Monthly Meeting at 6 pm - 7 pm in the Parish Commons. We will discuss our future volunteer and prayer opportunities. We will also join together in prayer through a beautiful process called Spiritual Adoption.
“Respect, protect, love and serve life, every human life!”
-Saint John Paul II, Evangelium Vitae 5
St. Rita Catholic Community respects life! As Catholics, we’re committed to the struggle to protect, defend, and promote all human life from its natural beginning to natural end. As Blessed Pope John Paul II taught, the “Gospel of life is at the heart of Jesus’ message.” We believe that each human being is created directly by God and is therefore inestimably valuable, enjoying an inalienable right to life. Also, as Catholics, we recognize we live in a “new cultural climate” which not only fails to recognize the value of human life but which often openly attacks life—often the most vulnerable persons in our society.
Thus, worldwide, every Catholic is called to stand up and be counted, promoting and defending life in word and deed. At St. Rita, we promote the Gospel of Life many different ways, but at the heart of our effort is the St. Rita Respect Life Committee. St. Rita Respect Life helps our community organize our pro-life efforts with those of the wider Church, and it also works to educate our community about the ongoing needs and efforts involving the pro-life cause.
Would you like to get involved? We would love to have you join our ministry! Take some time to explore these web pages and also our links to other pro-life sites. If you’d like to join us, volunteer, or have any questions, please contact us!
Blessings,
